Scoutmoor Top Rock Sandstone is a green, fine grained sandstone from
the Millstone Grit series of Carboniferous age. The variation from
grey to buff mix makes this a very desirable sandstone for use in walling
applications. The stone is extracted from the Scoutmoor Quarry on the
outskirts of Ramsbottom, Lancashire.
