New Medical Health Centre, Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire
Important Considerations
The challenge for architects, Moreton Deakin Associates, was
to design a magnificent health centre which would integrate into
the small town of Mytholmroyd. The overall design of the stonework
had to blend easily with the existing area buildings.
Type of Stone – Stanton Moor Gritstone
For the exterior walling of the medical centre Stanton Moor
Cottage Walling Stone was chosen. Supplied by Stancliffe Stone
Company this high quality sandstone is produced by refining the
face of the stone to give a random appearance creating the complementary
material required. The cottage effect is so astonishing you could
have no doubts as to the aesthetic qualities and match of the
indigenous stones traditionally found on building in the area. |
