Underscar Lakes, Keswick, Cumbria

This was a very sensitive site within the boundaries of the Lake District National Park. The use of materials sympathetic to the existing buildings was essential and was why the design team picked the Cumbrian Salterwath Limestone.

Used for hard landscaping as well as random rubble walling this very durable north country limestone provided the idea natural material.

Working in combination with Halldale Gritstone, used for the opening treatments, the Salterwath Limestone walling was expertly installed by specialist masonry contractors T. A. Law.
