STONE DESCRIPTION:

Stanton Moor is a beautiful Derbyshire carboniferous sandstone, which has been used widely across the UK for all scale of projects - from major prestigious city centre developments to residential developments and private homes.

The stone has been extracted from Dale View Quarry near Matlock for many years. The striking colour of Stanton Moor features a buff base with brown, gold and wild pink variation, adding depth and interest to both traditional and contemporary building designs.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The Challenge:

To construct a contemporary designed regional Cardiac centre, built to hotel standards and designed for elective surgery, day and outpatients clinics. Built under P21 framework initiative.

The Solution:

A scheme designed over three floors and arranged around a central courtyard, occupying a corner of the existing Victoria Hospital site and connected to the main hospital circulation, although effectively, a free standing facility.

The external façade incorporates Stanton Moor sandstone handset ashlar cladding and masonry alongside curtain walling and glazing.

Colour selection of the mix of Stanton Moor Buff and Stanton Moor Pink was made in consultation with the project design team, to achieve the desired effect.
