NATURAL STONE SUSTAINABILITY

Natural Stone Sustainability

A SUSTAINABLE NATURAL STONE SOURCE

As a sustainable natural stone business, we believe in balancing environmental, social and economic impacts. The long term merits of all business decisions are judged against three objectives:

Effective protection of the environment.

Social progress which recognises the needs of everyone.

Maintenance of stable levels of economic growth.

ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY

All production sites are ISO 14001 accredited and all our natural stone quarries have active restoration plans.

CO2 produced as a result of operations is being reduced through initiatives such as energy optimisation projects.

Stancliffe Stone has also achieved the Wildlife Trust’s Biodiversity Benchmark at its Stoke Hall site.

SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

All Stancliffe Stone sites are BS OHSAS 18001 accredited and training requirements are identified to look after the welfare of all our employees. We work in partnership with the local communities, supporting local community, charity and educational initiatives and local businesses wherever possible.

ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY

All site at Stancliffe Stone have BSI accredited management systems – either ISO 9001 or PAS 99. Masonry processing at each site encompasses continued investment, providing employment both at our sites and in local communities through the use of local suppliers.
