NATURAL STONE CASE STUDY - LATITUDE RED - LEEDS

Natural Stone Case Study-Latitude Red-Leeds

STONE DESCRIPTION:

A distinctive fine to medium grained sandstone from the Millstone Grit series of Carboniferous age. The stone is extracted from the Fletcher Bank Quarry, Lancashire.

Fletcher Bank Brown sandstone is particularly striking when used on large scale cladding projects, maximizing a high quality natural blast of colour which glides effortlessly across an exterior structure.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

To construct an eight storey eye-catching office development close to Leeds City Centre.

This major business development has been designed to provide headquarter office buildings which accommodates a variety of requirements designed to the highest standards, ensuring that the aesthetic specification matches environmental aspirations. As the first building in the scheme, the build combines natural light and contemporary architecture to create a striking working environment.

THE BUILD SOLUTION:

Fletcher Bank sandstone thin ashlar cladding on the exterior façade gives a high quality edge to the overall design. The ashlar cladding was specified at 1485 mm (L) x 670 mm (H) x 40 mm (W) and fixed off site into the bottom of a specially designed window frame system, before being installed in sections directly onto the external elevation. The superb specification and continuity of Fletcher Bank natural sandstone thin ashlar cladding continues inside the building, offering stunning accommodation to this premium office space.

Latitude sets the standard for office space in the city of Leeds with a high environmental standard, BREEAM Excellent rating.
